We gathered at the Q Café yesterday, welcoming several new folks to the circle. Among the topics of discussion:
-as we address civic challenges, justice, poverty, etc., the tensions of humbly standing "in the middle", resisting the temptation to demonize those on either side of an issue; our call to speak prophetically, and also to pastor and care for, all members of the community.
-We discussed Neil Tibbot's interview/article with Killian No of Recovery Café (had emailed the interview), in context of discussing the need for focus, as congregations discern which causes or relationships they will support; easy to become overwhelmed
-Nickelsville updates: Ed Park alerted us to a recent article regarding Tent Cities, including Nickelsville, recently published in the Seattle PI:
here.
We agreed to invite a person from the Mayor's Office, specifically working on the Nickelsville situation, to speak to us about their work and from the City's perspective.

-May 30 "Ante-Pentecost" event (not anti-pentecost), intended to include any/all Seattle churches in meaningful conversation around missional engagement throughout Seattle's neighborhoods; the first of what will hopefully become many annual events; this follows our talk of the
