Invitation to Ecumenical Conversation -May 16 Pentecost 2009: Faith and Justice in a 21st Century Seattle

Dear Sisters and Brothers,

May the light of the Almighty bright up your path on such a cloudy and cold, but blessed Spring day.

Let me share about and invite you to an exciting gathering that is taking in Seattle, Pentecost 2009: Faith and Justice in a 21st Century Seattle. This event will take place at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Seattle, May 16 from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM.
A group of fellow brothers and sisters from Mainline, Evangelical, Emergent, Catholic congregations and para-church organizations in conjunction with the Church Council of Greater Seattle and the Raushenbush Center have been meeting to put together an ecumenical conversation around the theme of Faith and Justice for 21st Century Seattle.

This encounter will be hosted following the conversational modes of World Cafe and/or Open Space Technology. The purpose is to bring Christians in Seattle for an open conversation about the different issues in Seattle and how we might work together for justice in our city. We will together join with others in identifying issues we might want to work together in order to be agent of change. This will be done in the larger scale looking at Seattle as a big city, but also done looking at the different neighborhoods and their specific issues. Following the conversation about identification, there will be a space for conversation focusing this time on what we can do together to bring God's Shalom in our neighborhoods.

This promise to be a blessed time to come together and bring witness of what we can do together as the beloved community of God.

Join us in conversing and dreaming for the common good of our neighborhoods in Seattle.
