TIPS FOR USING NW HOTHOUSE NING
You can customize your personal page with a hand picked color scheme or pre made template, and use your text box to post a picture, talk about about yourself, your church, hawk your books... as you choose.
Groups are for 'cohorts'
on this site intended for state/ province cohorts: Washington, Oregon, B.C, Idaho (one main group page per state/province cort). - To start a topical discussion with folk across the whole network (not specific to your state/province cohort) use 'forums' rather than start a group. + And on your state/province cohort group page, start forums *specific to your state/province cohort.*
Wall comments are public.
When you add a comment to someone's wall, everyone can else read it. so the wall is best for quick, non private greetings/ comments.
Email is private.
To send a private email message to a member 1. click on their picture.
2. Then on their personal profile (below their picture) click 'send a message.'
Blog posts are public. Share a 'one off,' brilliant thought, image or video with the whole network on a blog post.
Forms launch 'ongoing' conversations. (topical discussion threads meant to continue over time).
Check your mail & friend requests click the mail or friends icon - top, left corner of the website.

Just FYI we've got a group going in Portland - the Eighth Day Network is folks from around Oregon, though we've had a couple nibbles from Vancouver/SW Washington as well. Is anyone else doing anything that you know about in my region?
Also - when is the next hothouse - my family is probably going to take a holiday on the Oregon beach in the next 2-3 months - it would be nice to coordinate the trip around attending a hothouse meeting.

thanks for the invite! i miss you guys! i have been so busy working that i have not had the opportunity to make it to any of the meetings. hopefully soon i will be able to hook up and join the group. things have changed quite a bit for us and we are just waiting to see what God wants us to do next. hope all is well with you guys...glad to see you are back in the abbey. i hope to come and visit soon! talk to you later! rock on!
